Marie Macklin Features On Panel At Barclays ‘Live Growth’ Event
Marie Macklin CBE, Founder and Director of the HALO Scotland, the Kilmarnock urban regeneration project, joined a panel of business leaders at Barclays’ first Live Growth event of the year to discuss competition in business.
“Competition – Survival of the fittest” held at CodeBase, Edinburgh, brought together clients and key business introducers from across Scotland who listened to how Marie and the panel have stood out from the competition in their careers as entrepreneurs.
As well as Marie, the panel included leading business experts: Bob Keiller CBE, Chairman of Scottish Enterprise; Cally Russell, CEO of Mallzee; and John Watson, Operating Principal at Global Infrastructure Partners.
The panel discussed everything from the importance of keeping an eye on your competition, how to be ‘disruptive’ with your competitors and if there is ever a good time to join forces with your business rivals.
Speaking after the event, Marie Macklin, Founder and Director of The HALO Kilmarnock said: “I am honoured to have been invited to such a prestigious event and really enjoyed being able to share the experiences I have had in my career at today’s event.
“I hope that my experiences on projects like The HALO Scotland, a £65 million urban regeneration initiative, will be able to help today’s guests in their future careers.
“It was also interesting to hear how the panel develop their products while maintaining a competitive advantage in their own sectors. I would like to thank Barclays for inviting me to what has been a fantastic event and it is great to see them showing so much support to their entrepreneurial audience.”
